The side valleys of the Zillertal
The classification unique is certainly justified for the side valleys Schwarzach valley, Wimmertal Valley, Schoenach valley, Krummbach valley and the Krimml Achental valley. The area that includes the Rosenalm, Kreuzjoch, Iskogl and the Wild Krimml offers lovely alpine pasture hikes.
Hut hike to the Kreuzwiesenalm
You can reach our Kreuzwiesenalm hut in the Zillertal Arena in Zell on the Schmankerlweg culinary trail or via the Kreuzjoch summit and Karspitz. Over wonderful, pristine meadows, you can reach us via Gerlos. You can enjoy a gorgeous, unrivalled panorama on the sunny terrace of the Kreuzwiesenalm at an elevation of 1,880m.
The Spruce Tree Castle at the Rosenalm
In summer awaiting you and your family is enjoyment of fairy-tale proportions: at the Rosenalm in Zell am Ziller, the Spruce Tree Castle opens up a magical play paradise for children. On an area of over 5000m², four towers, a water play area, and much more provide hours of fun.
The best companion: the Zillertal Activcard
With the Zillertal Activcard, you can enjoy flexibility on a vacation in the wonderful Zillertal, Tyrol. Each day, you can take the gondola up the mountain in Zell in the Zillertal and upon request back down: 12 Zillertal cable cars and lifts offer a free ride. The Zillertalbahn chugs along from Jenbach to Mayrhofen and back – every ½ hour. Experience a first-class active vacation with the whole family. Not for the faint-hearted: Arena Coaster
Racing fun for the whole family in summer on the 1,450-meter long Arena Coaster. Right at the Zell valley station – a 2-minute walk from Wohlfühl Ferien-Heim – you can ride the alpine coaster over waves and through steep curves at lofty heights. Children 10 and older can ride alone, and children 4 and older can ride with an accompanying person. This is a real highlight for every family vacation in Austria.
Via ferrate are a long-term trend among the alpine sports that introduces hikers to vertical adventures.
- Via ferrata on the local mountain Gerlosstein
450m of steel cables, 230 steel clamps, 150 anchors and many more features were needed in order to construct the via ferrata on the Gerlossteinwand. Time needed approx. 1,5 - 2,5 hours, climbing distance 380 m, difference in height 240m, climbing gear can be rented in the Gerlosstraße in Zell. - Via ferrata Zimmereben near Mayrhofen with routes for families and experts.
